Death Calls E. L. Husting; Well-Known Business Man of Milwaukee Passes Away.
     E. L. Husting, the well-known weiss beer and soda water manufacturer of Milwaukee, died last Tuesday at Sacred Heart sanitarium in that city after a short illness. Deceased was born in Luxemburg on August 24th, 1848. He came to this country with his parents in 1853, settling at Theresa, Dodge county. Wis. In 1863, at the age of fifteen years, he went to Milwaukee. His first employment was with a confection concern, for whom he drove a wagon selling "yankee notions." Thereafter, he was employed by Philip Altpeter, pioneer brewer and malster, at Third and Sherman street. In 1876 he embarked in the manufacture of soda and mineral waters. His beginning was humble, the business occupying originally only the basement of his dwelling house, and all departments of the work being performed by Mr. Husting, assisted by his wife and children.
     Mr. Husting was also well-known in Hartford and vicinity. A number of years ago his family occupied a summer cottage at Pike Lake and he made frequent visits to this city. He had many friends who were sorry to learn of his death.
     Mr. Husting is survived by his widow, three sons, Oscar T., Eugene L., Jr., and Berthold, two daughters, Miss Elizabeth and Mrs. E. J. Henning of San Diego, Cal; two brothers, John P. Husting, of Cambellsport, Wis., and Peter Husting, of Hastings, Minn., and two sisters, Mrs. J. V. Harter, of Kewaskum, Wis., and Mrs. James Bannon, of Mott, N.D. United States Senator Paul Husting is a cousin of the deceased.
     Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the family residence, 515 Galena street.1

The remains arrived in Hastings Sunday and lay in state at the home of his brother Ed. The funeral was held from the St. Boniface church Tuesday morning and interment made in the church cemetery.
     Mrs. Matilda Mainz of Douglas and Mrs. M.J. O'Shaugnessy of Eggleston are sisters of the deceased. A number of Miesville people attended the funeral.1
