The financial institutions of Mayville began with a private bank by W. Lamoreaux in 1886 and then sold to August Ruedebusch, L. S. Keeley, W. Langenbach, C. A. Schellpfeffer and D. Koch, who organized it as the State Bank of Mayville. A small bank book was found at the Museum with the name of Ruedebusch Mutual Savings Bank on it.4

     On Sunday, September 27th the children and other relatives of Mr. and Mrs. August Ruedebusch pleasantly surprised them in honor of their Golden wedding anniversary.
     Mr. and Mrs. August Ruedebush who number among the pioneer settlers of this city were married Sept. 27th, 1875 at Theresa at the home of the brides parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Langenbach by Judge S. W. Lamoreux. Shortly after their marriage they moved to this city where they have since resided.
     Both Mr. and Mrs. Ruedebusch are enjoying the best of health and are still taking active part in the affairs of their home and community. It is nothing unusual to see Mr. Ruedebusch driving to his several farms bright and early regardless of weather conditions.
     Mr. Ruedebusch for many years was engaged in the farm implement business and for years held the position as president of the State Bank of Mayville.
     They are the parents of five children, Mr.s Fred Lang of this city, Richard, Mrs. W. H. Rueping and Mrs. John Goetz, all of Fond du Lac. Their other daughter, Mrs. Richard Schneider died several years ago. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Ruedebusch hope and wish that they may live to celebrate their diamond Jubilee at the best of health and spirits.5

August Ruedebusch died in August 1933 at Theresa.1

Bertha Ruedebusch's obituary was printed in the Juneau Telephone on 05 Apr 1879:
     One of the saddest affairs that has been our lot to chronicle has recently befallen Mr. and Mrs. August Ruedebusch of Mayville, in the loss of one of their little girls. Friday last while house cleaning Mr. Ruedebusch sat a pail of hot-slack lime upon the floor, when the little one came along and tripping fell into the pail, scalding its face and hands very badly. It also drank some of the contents which was the immediate cause of its death. The family have the heart felt sympathy of the entire community.2 She witnessed the baptism of Lawrence Carl Anton Keeley on 12 September 1897 at St. Mary's Church, Mayville, Dodge County, Wisconsin.3
