The following wedding announcement was printed in The Daily Reporter on 27 Aug 1919:
Mrs. Mahoney Becomes Bride of Dr. A. C. Dana; Well Known Young Woman United in Marriage to Prominent Physician. Breakfast at Elks' Club
At the altar of St. Joseph's church this morning was read the beautiful marriage ritual of the Roman Catholic religion uniting Miss Marguerite C. Mahoney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Mahoney, and Dr. Arthur C. Dana, son of George P. Dana, in the sacred bonds of matrimony.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. J. Collins, pastor of the church, at a nuptial mass attended by a large assemblage of friends and relatives of the couple.
At the hour of 8:30 o'clock to the beautiful strains of Lohengrin's wedding march played by Miss Virgilia Fox, the bridal party composed of Frank D. Mahoney, a brother of the bride and Joe Harrington as ushers, the groom attended by his brother, Alex G. Dana, and the bride accompanied by her sister, Miss Agnes Mahoney, entered the church and proceeded to the altar.
During the offertory of the mass, Mrs. T. S. Arthur gave a beautiful rendition of Schubert's "Ave Maria."
Marked by Simplicity
Marked with simplicity and beauty the wedding party presented a very pretty sight as it proceeded down the spacious aisle of St. Joseph's church.
The bride was beautifully attired in a simple gown of white georgette crepe with a picture hat to match and carried a shower bouquet of roses and sweet peas. Her bridesmaid wore a pretty tricolette dress and a pink moire ribbon hat. She carried a hand bouquet of pink sweet peas.
After the ceremony a breakfast was served at the Elk's club house for members of the immediate families of the bride and groom, covers being laid for about thirty guests.
Following the breakfast Dr. and Mrs. Dana left on a motor trip to Minneapolis and other points of interest. They expect to be absent from the city for about ten days and upon their return will reside in an attractive new home which the groom recently erected at 46 Champion avenue, where they will be at home after October 1.
Miss Margaret Mahoney of Milwaukee and Frank Mahoney of Birmingham, Alabama, an aunt and brother of the bride were present at the ceremony.
Prominent Young Couple
The bride and groom of this morning are two of Fond du Lac's most prominent young people and carry with them in their new life sincere felicitations and best wishes of legions of friends and acquaintances.
The bride is a dramatic reader of no little ability, and her work is well known throughout the state. She graduated from the local high school with the class of 1912 and following her graduation pursued an extensive course in elocution under prominent instructors in Milwaukee and Chicago. Miss Mahoney's appearances on the platform have been numerous. For many months she was prominent in lyceum work.
The groom is one of the most prominent physicians in the city. He was graduated from Marquette university, Milwaukee, and, after completing his course in medicine at that institution, served an internship at St. Joseph's hospital at St. Paul.
After completing his work at the latter place he came to this city and engaged in the practice of his profession. He enjoys one of the largest practices in the city.7
